JAL The Band- History (Biography)
AL was formed in Lahore in 2002. When Goher Mumtaz composed his first song by the name of “AADAT” soon after, began his search for like minded musicians to complete his band. Serial number for adobe photoshop cs6. He ran into Shazi (Aamir) – A bass guitarist and after a few jamming sessions he invited Shazi to join JAL, and together they went about looking for a vocalist. Some time later Goher heard Atif singing in a local college music competition, impressed by his vocal range he offered Atif to join the band and to do vocals for the song “AADAT”. JAL’s first single “AADAT” was released in DEC 2003. Before the release of its video “AADAT” was released on the internet through a local Pakistani web portal. The song enjoyed the status of the most downloaded Pakistani song on the internet for quite some time and was extensively popular by the time the video was released.

Copyright dispute[edit]
Atif Aslam, released his debut solo album Jal Pari, after he left the band, which included few songs Aadat, Lamhey (titled as Bheegi Yaadein in Jal Pari), Dil Haarey (titled as Ankhon Se in Jal Pari) and Rangon Mein (titled as Zindagi in Jal Pari) from Jal's first studio album. This led to a dispute between Atif and Jal about who owned the rights to the songs as Goher took the dispute to court. However, the final statement from the court went somewhat in favour of both the artists as the songs which were included in both the artist albums were compositions of both Atif and Goher. However Atif was prohibited from using Jal's name and performing the disputed songs. Atif Aslam went on to sing the same songs in India, in fact copying the exact tune of Woh Lamhey for the Indian movie Zeher. Later, in a statement Jal the band pardoned Atif Aslam which finally ended the dispute between the these musicians.
